What Happens in an Intuitive Alignment Session

What Happens in an Intuitive Alignment Session

By Glen Pankhurst · Walk The Aligned Path · Updated 24 August 2026

Most people who reach out to me don't arrive with one tidy problem. They arrive with a feeling — that something is off, in more than one place at once. Work, money, relationships, health. Rarely just one of them, and rarely for the reason it appears to be. From the inside, none of it looks connected.

Here's the thing: it usually is connected. Not because life is conspiring against you, but because the same handful of beliefs and habits of focus are running underneath all of it. You can't see them clearly because you're standing inside them.

That's the work of an intuitive alignment session. Not fixing you. Seeing what's actually running — the practical intuition and pattern recognition that turns a vague sense of stuckness into something you can actually work with.

Why does knowing what to do so rarely change anything?

People arrive at this in two different ways.

Some know something needs to change but can't name what. There's a persistent sense of being off-course without a clear culprit, and every attempt to pin it down slides off. Others know exactly what needs to change — they could tell you the decision, the conversation, the habit — and still find themselves not doing it, month after month.

Both are the same thing wearing different clothes. In the first, the pattern is still out of view. In the second, it's in plain sight but something underneath won't let go of it.

Because knowing something intellectually and being in alignment with it are two different things. Your thoughts, your focus, and the beliefs you're not aware of holding are all pointing somewhere. When they point somewhere other than what you say you want, the gap has to show up as something. Sometimes it's effort — pushing, forcing, trying harder, and getting the same result in a new outfit. Sometimes it's fear that arrives the moment the change gets close enough to be real. Sometimes it's the quiet sense that you're not the person this works out for. And sometimes it's the most convincing one of all: that this is simply how things are, that nobody gets everything they want, and that wanting more is naïve.

Two things can be true: you can be genuinely committed to a change, and be holding a belief that makes that change feel unsafe. Not because you're weak or undisciplined, but because at some point that belief was protecting you. Willpower doesn't resolve that. Recognition does.

What actually happens during the session?

If you're wondering what to expect from an intuitive alignment session: a conversation, not a procedure. There's no script you have to follow and nothing you need to prepare.

We start with whatever is loudest for you right now — the frustration, the decision you keep circling, the situation that won't shift. Then we follow it. I listen for where the same shape keeps repeating across different parts of your life, because that repetition is the useful signal. When it surfaces, we name it plainly, in ordinary language you can actually use afterward.

What clients say most often afterwards is that they'd been carrying something for years without being able to see it on their own. Not because it's complicated — because nobody was listening for the pattern, including them.

I don't push for change in the room. Clarity first. Action second. Once you can see the loop clearly, the next step is usually obvious to you, and it comes from your own guidance rather than my advice.

What do we look at?

Whatever is actually in your life. Sessions aren't limited to one topic, and you're welcome to bring several things that feel unrelated — often that's the most useful place to start.

Common ground includes:

  • Money decisions, and the beliefs sitting underneath financial confidence

  • Career direction, stalling, and the choices that never quite get made

  • Relationships that keep arriving at the same conversation or ending in the same way

  • Self-trust — the gap that makes every decision feel shaky

  • Staying steady through change, transition, or a stretch where nothing has visibly moved yet

Do I need to know my pattern before I book?

No. Working that out is the session.

If you already have a strong sense of what's driving things, bring it — we'll test it and go deeper. If all you have is "something's not right and I can't name it," that's a completely normal starting point and it's more common than the other one.

How is this different from other coaching?

Most coaching gives you a plan — goals, steps, accountability. If the plan doesn't get followed, you get a better plan. One of the real intuitive coaching benefits is that it doesn't stop at the plan — it looks at why the plan keeps not getting followed.

I'm more interested in why it didn't get followed. A smarter strategy sitting on top of a belief you've never looked at usually just gets you to the same place faster. So we go to the cause first, and the next step you leave with is built around what we actually found — your life, your language, your circumstances.

I also won't tell you what your inner guidance is saying. My job is to help you hear it, so you can do this for yourself long after the call ends.

What changes afterwards?

I want to be careful here, because this is where a lot of coaching copy overpromises about intuitive alignment session outcomes, and I won't do that.

I won't promise you an outcome. Nobody honest can, because the change isn't something I do to you — it depends on what you do with what we find.

What I will say with certainty is how it works. When you can see the pattern clearly and you act on what you see, things move. That's not a hopeful claim, it's the mechanism, and it's the consistent thread through the clients who've worked with me over years. The people who apply it get their lives moving again — sometimes well beyond the thing they originally came in about.

What that looks like day to day is rarely dramatic. It shows up as a pause before an old reaction. A boundary that gets said out loud instead of swallowed. A decision made from steadiness instead of habit. Some people notice it physically first — the shoulders drop, the breath goes lower, the words come out cleaner.

Those small shifts matter more than they look. Relief is the marker worth watching for. When a thought about a hard situation feels slightly lighter than it did yesterday, something has genuinely moved, even if nothing external has changed yet.

How do you turn insight into lasting change?

By using it before the old pattern reasserts itself.

Insight on its own fades. Applied insight compounds. So the session ends with something concrete and small enough that you'll actually do it — a specific place in your week where you'll notice the loop and choose differently. Breaking repeating life patterns isn't a life overhaul. It's one repeatable point of contact between what you saw and how you live.

That's also why some people come back periodically. Not because the work failed, but because a new layer surfaces once the first one clears, and it's easier to catch early.

Who am I to be telling you this?

I'm Glen Pankhurst. I run Walk The Aligned Path from Redmond, Washington, and I work with clients online worldwide.

I didn't come to this from theory. I spent years with patterns of my own that I couldn't out-think, out-work, or out-plan, and what finally moved them was learning to see them clearly and stop arguing with what I already knew.

What do clients say?

Tracy has been a spiritual teacher and intuitive for more than 25 years. When she told me I'd changed her life, I'll admit it got to me — this is the whole point of the work for me. I found my way out of my own patterns, and getting to help someone else do the same is not something I've grown casual about:

"Even after more than 25 years as a spiritual teacher and intuitive, I was genuinely surprised by the impact Glen's guidance has had on my life. He helped me recognize patterns I hadn't fully seen, release relationships that were no longer healthy, and begin putting my own well-being first… Things that had once felt stuck began to move." — Tracy "TJ" Higgs, Hatfield Heath, Essex, UK

Kristi broke through patterns affecting her relationships, work, and career — several areas stuck at the same time, which is the norm rather than the exception:

"His guidance has helped me see blocks and unwanted patterns I couldn't see on my own — and work through them step by step. That clarity has helped me navigate relationship challenges, difficult situations at work, and an important area of my career where I had felt stuck, creating real movement in each." — Kristi, Seattle, WA, USA
