Preparing for Your Session

Our time together is most powerful when you arrive with two things in place: a clear intention and a reasonably good-feeling (or at least neutral) state. This page walks you through a simple way to do that before every session.

Use a guided meditation to get into a better-feeling place before we meet.

Before We Meet

A little preparation goes a long way. Start with these foundations:

Meditate

Take 10–20 minutes to sit or lie down, close your eyes, and let your body and mind unwind.


No need to force anything. Just follow your breath and notice how it feels to soften, even a little.

Listen to something uplifting

Put on music, a talk, or a clip that reliably lifts you—an episode of The Aligned Path, a favourite song, something that feels light and encouraging.

Go for a walk

A gentle walk (outside if possible) helps you drop out of your head and into your body. Let it be about breathing and noticing, not getting steps in.

Disconnect to reconnect

Turn your phone to silent. Close the tabs. Give yourself some screen-free time. Sit somewhere comfortable and simply be with yourself for a few minutes.

Set a Clear Intention

Your intention doesn’t need to be clever or perfect.
It just needs to be true for you right now.

You might ask yourself:

  • What feels heavy, confusing, or stuck for me at the moment?

  • If this session could give me one thing, what would it be?

  • How would I love to feel when we’re done? (Relieved, clearer, hopeful, empowered, softer…)

 
Jot down a few bullet points.
We’ll use them as a starting point so we can go straight to what matters most.

Get Into a Good-Feeling Place

Choose one or two of these before your session. There’s no right way—just what genuinely helps you soften.

If Feeling Good Feels Distant

Some days, “great” is not available. That’s okay.
When a subject feels too active, forcing positivity usually makes it feel worse.

So aim for neutral instead. Neutral is a powerful pivot — it slows the momentum and gives you breathing room.

Neutral might sound like:

  • “I don’t have to solve everything right now.”

  • “For this next hour, I’m allowed to put everything down.”

  • “I’m open to feeling just a little bit better.”

  • “My only job right now is to soften — not to fix.”

  • “One small shift is enough for today.”

If you want a quick reset before we meet: 10–20 minutes of meditation or a gentle walk is plenty — no forcing, just unwinding.

That small shift is already powerful. We can build from there together.

You can’t “fail” a session by not being spiritual enough or calm enough. We start exactly where you are.
