I’m Glen Pankhurst, creator of The Aligned Path Podcast and the intuitive alignment coaching you’ve seen on the homepage.

My work is simple: I help you spot and release the deep patterns that have been running your life, potentially since childhood – the ones you can’t quite see, but definitely feel.

If you’ve been doing “all the work” and still feel stuck, blocked, or like life just doesn’t move the way it should, this page is for you. Here I’m going to share more of my story, how trauma shapes our patterns, and how our work together can start to shift things.
My Story
I grew up in an environment shaped by trauma.
From a young age, I learned to survive by reading the room, scanning for danger, and shrinking parts of myself to stay safe.

For years, that early conditioning quietly ran my life:

I shut down around relationships and love
-
I played small with money and career
-
I lived in a constant state of waiting for something to go wrong
​
On the outside, I could look confident and capable.
Inside, I was wired for survival – always braced for the next impact.
​
Alongside that, I noticed something else: people who felt stuck, shut down, or overwhelmed would naturally gravitate towards me. I’d hear their words and feel the pattern underneath. I’d reflect it back, gently but honestly, and something would click for them. They’d suddenly see what they’d been living inside for years.
​
I’ve been doing that my whole life – first with my family, then with friends, and now with clients all over the world.
Over time, I did deep work on my own history and patterns: releasing long-running trauma imprints, loosening old survival defaults, and learning how to align with something deeper and steadier within me.
​
That lived experience now shapes everything I do. I don’t teach this from theory. I teach it from the inside.
How Trauma Shapes Your Life (Often Without You Seeing It)
Trauma isn’t just the obvious, dramatic events.
It can be any moment – or series of moments – where you felt unsafe, unseen, shamed, rejected, or abandoned. Especially when it happens early in life, or happens more than once.

Those experiences lay down survival patterns like:

Expecting things to go wrong, even when they’re going well

Waiting for “the other shoe to drop”

Looking for a villain in every situation
-
Shutting down around love, money, or success
-
Never truly relaxing, even when there’s nothing “wrong” right now
​
At first, these patterns are your mind’s way of protecting you.
They help you survive. They make sense.
​
But over time, if they’re never questioned or released, they become the lens you see everything through. You can be decades away from the original events and still feel like you’re living inside them.
​
So you do all the “right” things – therapy, coaching, manifestation practices, mindset work – and still feel blocked. That’s not failure. That’s trauma patterns quietly running the show.
When Old Stories Take the Wheel
Here’s how I see it:

In the beginning, painful experiences write stories in your nervous system – stories about what people are like, what you’re allowed to have, what’s safe and what isn’t.
​
If those stories get repeated often enough, they stop feeling like stories and start feeling like facts. They quietly grab the wheel and steer your life from the background.
​
Those story-level patterns sound like:

“This is just the kind of person I am.”

“People like me don’t get more than this.”
-
“Somehow it always turns out this way.”
They’re so close to you that you rarely see them directly.
You just see the patterns they create:

Good things beginning, then slipping away

The same arguments, the same breakups, the same jobs in different clothing
-
Every step forward followed by a slide back to the old familiar place
You can’t rewrite a story you don’t realize you’re still telling.

This is why so many people who are smart, self-aware, and spiritually switched-on can still feel trapped – they’ve updated their ideas, but the old stories are still quietly driving.
​
